Composite Sound Insulation Board
Moisture-resistant composite sound insulation board with 9mm M.GYP, 1mm EPDM damping layer, and 7mm FCB. Achieves 32dB sound reduction. Ideal for humid environments, residential, recording studios, cinemas, and clubs.
Product Description
SG-CN10 Composite Sound Insulation Board is designed according to the transmission characteristics of sound. It consists of a three-layer core of 9mm M.GYP, 1mm EPDM and 7mm FCB, with an overall board thickness of 18mm.
A damping layer selection of 1mm EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) sandwiched between a layer of 9mm M.GYP (Moisture-resistant Gypsum Board) and a layer of 7mm FCB (Fibre Cement Board). By combining materials with different masses, stiffness levels, and thicknesses, the system disrupts multiple sound frequencies and increases STC (Sound Transmission Class) performance.

Product Engineering Principle
The SG-CN10 utilizes a sophisticated three-layer construction with a moisture-resistant gypsum face, making it the ideal choice for humidity-prone spaces:
- 9mm M.GYP (Moisture-resistant Gypsum Board) - High-density outer layer providing mass with resistance to moisture and humidity
- 1mm EPDM Damping Layer - Absorbs vibration and disrupts sound transmission
- 7mm FCB (Fibre Cement Board) - Dense second layer for durability and performance
This 9+1+7 configuration effectively disrupts multiple sound frequencies while withstanding humid and wet environments where standard boards may degrade.
Why Choose SG-CN10?
The SG-CN10 pairs reliable 32dB sound isolation with a moisture-resistant gypsum face, making it the right board for bathrooms, basements, coastal properties, and any humid environment that demands both acoustic and moisture performance.
Key Benefits
- 32dB Sound Reduction: Reliable acoustic isolation for privacy and comfort
- Moisture-Resistant Construction: M.GYP face withstands humidity where standard boards fail
- Fire Retardant: Class A non-combustible for maximum safety
- Versatile Applications: From humid residential spaces to commercial entertainment venues
- Easy Installation: Can be cut with saw, drilled, and secured with self-tapping screws
- Multiple Finish Options: Compatible with wallpaper, glass, tiles, and cement finishes
Technical Innovation
The EPDM damping layer acts as a vibration absorber, converting sound energy into minimal heat energy. Combined with the mass-spring-mass principle of the M.GYP and FCB layers, this creates superior sound transmission loss while the moisture-resistant face ensures long-term performance in humid conditions.
Installation Methods
SG-CN10 can be installed using standard construction methods:
- Direct mounting with self-tapping screws to metal or wood studs
- Adhesive application combined with mechanical fastening
- Framework mounting for suspended ceiling applications
The board can be easily cut to size using standard carpentry tools, making it adaptable to various project requirements.
Recommended Applications
SG-CN10 is specifically designed for environments requiring sound isolation together with moisture resistance:
- Entertainment: Clubs, KTV & karaoke rooms, cinemas
- Professional: Recording studios, broadcast rooms
- Hospitality: Hotels, serviced apartments
- Humid Spaces: Basements, bathrooms, coastal and high-humidity properties
- Residential: Condominiums, apartments, private homes
